A large and impressive work of art in a clock. This hand-crafted and gilded wall clock is a stunning addition to an elegant room. An alliance of old and new, this clock features a quality German quartz movement for accuracy combined with a traditional hand-crafted wooden case gilded in gold-leaf and copper-leaf.

The traditional round dial is brought, tastefully, up-to-date with four large, gold, Arabic numerals on an antiqued copper base. It would suit modern or traditional decor equally.

UK based Wilde at Art are one of the few remaining craft workshops still employing traditional gilding techniques. Each piece undergoes a painstaking process whereby it is cut and formed from wood onto which an ultra-smooth surface is built up using gesso and a ceramic-based paint called boll. To give each piece it's unique and distinctive character, the process is completed by hand-gilding, burnishing, tarnishing, antiquing, distressing and, finally, lacquering with a traditional mixture of oils and waxes. Further finishing may also include the hand-etching of dials, collaging and verre-eglomise gilding.

The result of all this effort is a unique and magnificient time-piece that will give pleasure and enjoyment for many years to come.
