A gothic style, hand crafted, pendulum wall clock gilded in gold leaf and named "Little Ben" by the designers, Wilde at Art. Tasteful and elegant, this lovely clock would suit any stylish property. An alliance of old and new, the clock features a quality German quartz pendulum movement for accuracy combined with a traditional hand-crafted wooden case gilded in a highly-attractive antiqued gold-leaf. Subtle and yet stunning, this is as much a piece of art as a time-piece.

The gilding has been finished in two complementary shades and the clock features a traditional half-Roman dial which has been hand-etched. It would suit modern or traditional decor equally and the finish is an absolute joy to behold as it reflects in a most attractive manner.

UK based Wilde at Art are one of the few remaining craft workshops still employing traditional gilding techniques. Each piece undergoes a painstaking process whereby it is cut and formed from wood onto which an ultra-smooth surface is built up using gesso and a ceramic-based paint called boll. To give each piece it's unique and distinctive character, the process is completed by hand-gilding, burnishing, tarnishing, antiquing, distressing and, finally, lacquering with a traditional mixture of oils and waxes. Further finishing may also include the hand-etching of dials, collaging and verre-eglomise gilding.

The result of all this effort is a unique and magnificient time-piece that will give pleasure and enjoyment for many years to come.

The clock measures approximately 28cm tall (excluding the pendulum) x 12cm wide x 6.5cm deep and will be sure to be a talking point with visitors.
